not just about ensuring that those that were responsible for these activities that caused a hostile environment that adults knew of, should have known of and knew of and done something about it, is about ensuring that the culture that gives rise to that is eradicated. so our resolutions are about mining the data in detail so that you know not just what's happening but who feels comfortable saying it and how they are going about trying to remediate it. it is about doing climate checks because unless adults consistently talk to their student body and understand you don't know whether it's getting better. in lots of instances in our resolutions it's also been about ensuring that there was a community school leader committee on campus to help deal with some of these issues, to do things like peer to peer orientation because, for example, we know sexual harassment and sexual violence happens most frequently in the early days of the school year during things like orientation week. and it's also about ensuring that we realize the school day doesn't just end at 3:00. extra can urricular activities, par

[ sniffing ] [ seagulls squawking ] >> following the latest with the bay bridge and those bolts that were found to be defective. jackie sissel is discovering more about these boats and their history. >> there are new reports out this morning indicating caltrans actually ordered some tests as early as 2008 on those boatsbulletolts. 96 of these bolts were put into the bay bridge. as they were being tightened, 33 of them actually it failed, cracked. the report today they say as early as 2008 there were questions about the integrity of these bowls and the manufacturer who actually made the bolts. that was the icing co. and ohio. caltrans ashley ordered additional tests on the bolts. they wanted to make sure that they were structurally it fine. for whatever reason, those tests were not done. one-third of the 96 bullets ultimately failed. why did tests were not done is obviously part of the investigation. how're they going to fix this? last week there was a press conference addressing this. they said their engineers are working hard to come up with

we're are in this environment and network participatory environment and our students need the tools. they need social emotional learning is a key tool and technical and literacy and media is behavioral so this has just been a fantastic day. thanks to all for coming and thank you everybody. i just want to share one piece of data which i don't understand completely. maybe our friend from facebook can explain, his twitter colleagues what they do. a hash tag was created and "stop bullying sf barb and hash tag and generated 3 million personal impressions and 1.3 million followers within the last 24 hours. [applause] isn't that incredible? we talked about some of the dangers in social media today and i guess that's part of the beauty of social media and the video is part of that as well, so on behalf of all the childrens and families and parents and communities in the district i want to thank everybody for coming for all the work that you do. i feel optimistic in all of work that you do. thank you and go forth and do great work.
